The Institute for Sustainable Mobility and Transport Networks of the National Center for Research and Technological Development (CERTH-HIT), coordinator of the iBikeShare project and the project partners, Brainbox A.E. and OTO SA, which operate the system of public bicycles in Thessaloniki, organize on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 19:00, at café Allegro at the Concert Hall an evening with the theme "The next day of cycling in the city of Thessaloniki and the wider area ».
With a view of Thermaikos and a relaxed atmosphere we invite the key players of the city (the Municipality, the Region of Central Macedonia, the entrepreneurship of the public bicycle sector, the academic community and the cyclists) to exchange views on how to do the bicycle is a means of transportation and not just leisure.
The evening is framed by parallel actions in order to enhance the use of bicycles in the city of Thessaloniki, to inform the public about the new shared bicycle app developed as part of the project, to hear the views of citizens and to support the active mobility in the post-COVID-19 era.
The event is part of the iBikeShare project of the National Action "Research - Create - Innovate" which aims to promote shared bicycle services by serving the principles of sustainable urban mobility and innovative entrepreneurship.
More specifically, through the development of a comprehensive service to support the design, management and use of public bicycle systems, it contributes to the promotion of the bicycle as a means of transport that can serve the daily movements of citizens, and not only leisure .The evening is open to the public but it is necessary to confirm the participation at tel.
